State Bank of India ATM in South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar dispensed fake Rs 2,000 notes. The notes, which could be passed off as genuine at first glance, are replete with errors and seem to be a prank at people’s expense.
The notes were dispensed on February 6 and had ‘Children Bank of India’ written on them. Other deviations on the note include ‘Guaranteed by the Children’s Government’ in place of Guaranteed by the Central Government, a ‘churan’ label in place of the latent image and a fake ‘PK’ logo.
On February 6, Vinod Yadav, a resident of Sangam Vihar received a call from his friend Rohit, who told him that fake notes were getting dispensed from the SBI ATM. After seeing the notes, Vinod informed the police officers about the same who refused to believe it. Finally, the cop withdrew a note himself, which confirmed Rohit’s allegations.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter
