Going Viral: SRK pens poem celebrating woman power

Chennai: A poem, written by him, based on women’s empowerment that he read out at a recent book launch has gone viral on social media and has managed to attract widespread cheer from women and men alike.

Acknowledging how women in this world shaped his life, which includes his mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, co-stars etc, the 50-year-old actor said “My life has been completely shaped by women, starting from my grandmother to my daughter now and in between my wife, aunts, did it in colonies, my leading ladies and women directors with whom I have worked. They have helped me achieve 100 per cent of what I am today. I wouldn’t be half a man without these women. I owe my life to them.”

He then mentioned that he had written a few verses, inspired by a Zayn Malik quote. Incidentally, Shah Rukh had met Malik, formerly of the band One Direction, at the Asian Awards, in London. The poem talks about the strength of a girl who has made mistakes, regrets, secrets and dreams, one, who falls but never gives up
