800 Engineering Colleges Shut Down By 2018: AICTE

Bangalore: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Chairman Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe has said Over 800 number of Engineering Colleges in our country should be closed.

The every year 150 engineering colleges closed because of the adequate infrastructure severe rule of AICTE.

Professors Do Not Have Enough Training

Professors and teachers working in most of the engineering colleges in the country are MTech or Ph.D. They do not have enough training. To join the engineering colleges in the future, you must join the 6-month compulsory practice.

Karnataka cleared Maximum Engineering Seats

According to the report from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has been permitted to close 410 engineering colleges from 2014-15 and 2017-18. The maximum number of seats in Karnataka in the year 2016-17 has been cleared.

Tamil Nadu (about 1,300), Uttar Pradesh (1,165), and Andhra Pradesh (about 800). Of the 37 lakh engineering seats, over 27 lakh have been lying vacant according to the NIE report
