Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 84 smart projects worth 2000 crore rupees from 20 cities in Pune on Saturday evening. Speaking on the occasion the PM said Smart City project is not the mere allocation of funds but a mass movement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 84 smart projects worth 2000 crore rupees from 20 cities in Pune on Saturday evening.

Speaking on the occasion the PM said Smart City project is not the mere allocation of funds but a mass movement.

PM said urbanization should not be seen as a problem but an opportunity.

He said the people of India are the smartest and great things can be achieved once their skills are harnessed.

PM Modi also said there is a positive atmosphere of competition for development works.

He also inaugurated a Smart net portal in a function organized in Pune.

Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu termed smart city project as a turning point and urban renaissance while outlining the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making cities livable by making them smart.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis complimented Prime Minister Modi for seeing urbanization not as a challenge, but as an opportunity by making smart cities, thus ushering in urban transformation.
