Rejecting rumours that a secret deal had been struck with former BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu that he would be projected as the chief ministerial candidate for Punjab after joining the Aam Aadmi Party, AAP core committee member Sanjay Singh on Tuesday said there was no secret or open deal in this regard, and it is wrong to say that the latter is coming on certain conditions or pre-conditions.
“All these secret information are with you people. There is no secret or open deal in this regard. Sidhu is a brave man who has taken a daring decision, but it is wrong to say that he is coming on certain conditions or preconditions,” Singh told ANI.
When asked whether the AAP was ready to welcome Sidhu at any cost, despite him attacking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal severely in the past, he said, “There is no cost. The only cost is to save Punjab, doing away with the drug mafia, saving farmers from committing suicide…. You take a note of those things, as we are not concerned about that. When there is a big fight, and when there is a big issue like the welfare of Punjab, then it is not necessary to make small personal matters an issue.”
