Twitterati take a dig at Shahid Afridi following Lionel Messi’s Retirement

Argentinian star footballer Lionel Messi called it a day from international circuit following his team’s defeat in the Copa America final against Chile on Sunday. The news struck the fraternity by a storm as Messi is famous across the globe and one of the best footballers ever produced.

After the astonishing retirement of Messi, cricket fans and followers took to their Twitter handle to take a dig at Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi.  The star player from Pakistan has retired in the past only to make a comeback on a couple of occasions.

Messi may have taken the call in a haste and his fans want him back in action for Argentina. Twitterati urged Messi to take an inspiration from Afridi and make a comeback to the international circuit. Many trolled Afridi for his elongated stint with the Pakistan team while some asked him about his retirement. Afridi has retired from Tests and ODIS but hasn’t retired from T20Is.

The 36-year-old Afridi made his international debut in in 1996 and has represented Pakistan in 27 Tests, 398 ODIs, and 96 T20Is. Fans think it’s high time for him to hung his boots from international cricket.
