Chennai: December 21 is the public holiday for RK Nagar constituency, It’s announced by Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan.
Following the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the RK Nagar constituency was vacated. The Election Commission stopped the election on the complaint of complaining of giving money to the voters.
Now EC announced on December 21 that the election will be held. The nomination papers for the election began on Nov 27. The nomination papers filed yesterday.
In this situation, the government has decided to give a public holiday (December 21) to the polling held by the RK Nagar, Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan said.
