The Election Commission of India has announced that RK Nagar constituency bye-election will be held on December 21 after the death of Jayalalithaa. The vote count will be held on December 24.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa died on December 5, 2016. After her died the election commission declared RK Nagar constituency was vacant. The electorate was postponed because TTV Dinakaran and other parties money was tapped up based on the election commission cancelled the election.
Few days before the Madras High Court has ordered the CBI to conduct a Bypoll before Dec 31, 2017, in RK Nagar.
In this case, the Election Commission announced that the RK Nagar constituency will take place on December 21.
