Chennai: The Chennai High Court has upheld the sentence of two years prison for Sasikala’s husband Natarajan and his relative Bhaskaran. The case of tax evasion in the luxury car.
The order came as a further blow to the Sasikala-led rebel faction of the ruling party.
Natarajan’s house was also among the properties of various Sasikala relatives raided by the Income Tax Department earlier this month for alleged tax evasion.
Sasikala herself is serving a four-year prison term in a disproportionate assets case.
Sasikala’s husband Natarajan imported a luxury car called ‘Lexus’ in 1994 from London. It was alleged that the imported old car. Following this, the customs officials came to know that the new car was released in 1994. With the loss of Rs 1.06 crore through tax evasion, Natarajan and his cousin.

So four persons, including Natarajan, were investigated in the courts to investigate the criminal cases in Chennai and Egmore. In 2010, the Egmore court and Natarajan inquired into the case and issued the order in 2010 for two years imprisonment. Against this, four men appealed to the Chennai High Court.
