Twitter is an online news and social networking service where users post and interact with messages, “tweets”, restricted to 280 characters. Registered users can post tweets, but those who are unregistered can only read them.
Twitter launched a test that expanded the 140 character limit so every person around the world could express themselves easily. Their goal was to make this possible while ensuring we keep the speed and brevity that makes Twitter.
Looking at all the data, we’re excited to share we’ve achieved this goal and are rolling the change out to all languages where cramming was an issue.
We're expanding the character limit! We want it to be easier and faster for everyone to express themselves.
More characters. More expression. More of what's happening.https://t.co/wBpYdy1K40
