Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro has died. He was 90. Cuban President Raul Castro and brother of Fidel Castro has announced the death of Fidel Castro.
Fidel Castro has ruled Cuba as a one-party state for almost half a century before handing over the powers to his brother Raul in 2008.
His supporters praised him as a man who had given Cuba back to the people. But his opponents accused him of brutally suppressing opposition. In April, Fidel Castro gave a rare speech on the final day of the country’s Communist Party congress.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his condolences to the Government & people of Cuba on the sad demise of Fidel Castro. The Prime minister in his message said we stand in support with the Cuban Government and people in this tragic hour.
